Topic: HONOUR
Text: Prov 16:1, Ps 45:1, 1 Pet 2:17, James 3:9-10, 1 Corinthians 12:22, 1 Pet 3:7, 2 Corinthians 5:16, John 14:12
If you know how to draw, then you must know how to fill. The problem many people only draw but don’t refill others back is selfishness. They work for self alone. This transactional Christianity is not what Jesus died for. If you don’t kill self, self will kill you. Worse than sin is, self. True worship is when you give your all for God in total surrender. As you love Jesus, you must love this bride (Church) and you must also love His servant. As you love Jesus you must love his father. Christianity has no place for selfishness. If you really want to serve God, there must be no place for selfishness. Stop following God only for what you can gain. Your prayer lists are long, but you do nothing for God. The only time you remember to do something for God is when you need something, that is transactional. Let’s change our ways. Jesus did not die for you to just have a better life. There is more to gain than that. One of the things that those that labour for us need from us is prayer. There are things that money cannot do, so the church should pray. Learn to speak words of comfort to one another. That is a way of practising the law of proper speech.
The prophetic is about Two (2) things;
- Words
- Sounds
There are times that what gives waves to the words spoken are sounds. If you want to succeed as a Christian, plan 30% and leave 70% for Divine disruption. Without God man cannot and without man God will not. We must understand the God that we serve. The will of man cannot be violated. That is why God needs man to surrender his will to him. We must understand the God that we serve. If God wants to do certain things, 90% of times, he will do it through the gift of men. The same way God demands worship, the human variance of worship is what we call honour. The way worship works with God, is the same way honor works with men. Honour is a commandment. The culture of honor is being eroded heavily. You are to honour ALL men.
There are seven (7) Forces That Governs the Earth
- Principles. Laws govern the earth, and some of those laws do not need any man to enforce it. Find the law that you broke.
- Nature. They project either negative or positive things. That’s why the psalmist says “the sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night.” That means nature can smite.
- Element. Elements are one of the governing force. One of the most powerful element on the earth after the spirit is man. On this earth, men rule. To succeed on the earth, you not only need God you need men.
There are three (3) classes of gift in the new testament;
- The gift of the Holy Spirit.
- The gift of eternal life.
- The gift of men.
That is why there is about six (6) classes of the spiritual gifts of eternal life. Some he made Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers, Workers of Miracle, and Pastors. There is nothing like since I have God it is enough, No! It is not enough to just receive the prophecy, honour is a way to attract it. Honour must become a spirit. It must become a culture. If you want to build a team that will be loyal to you, honor them. That is why, it is wickedness to sacrifice people to get things. No! You don’t sacrifice people to get things, instead you sacrifice things to give people. Salary is not enough if you want to have loyal staff. You must honour the people working for you. You must honour the people you work for. You must honour the people you serve. If you want to imbibe the act of honour stop looking at the people after the flesh.
To have honour as a spirit stop looking at the outward appearance of people. As long as the person has the breath of life, give them honour. Everyone deserves honour. Let’s stop looking down on people. Treat everyone with dignity and honour. The Doctor is not more important than the cleaner cleaning the hospital. 2 Corinthians 5:16. If you want to imbibe the culture of honor, stop looking at people from what you can see. The spirit of honor sees beyond the outward and not because of what is seen, but because he or she was created in the image and likeness of God. When you look at men, don’t just look at them outwardly but look at them in the image of God. To have honor as a spirit, stop looking at the outward appearance of men. Everybody deserves to be honored. When people are in the valley, that’s the time to honor them. Don’t judge people by their circumstances, as the culture of honor will be far from you. Anybody you meet, honor them. James 3:9-10. Honour all men.
Three (3) Basis of Honor
- Who We Are In Christ. Know no man after the flesh.
What you put inside of people is what you get out of them. When you put people down they will be forced to fight. Let the dispatch rider, barber, etc, be aware that you respect him. Know no man after the flesh. Stop judging people by their work. Respect all people. The spirit of honor sees beyond the outward and not because of what is seen, but because he or she was created in the image and likeness of God. When you look at men, don’t just look at them but look at them in the image of God. Honour your husband. Don’t let see-finish enter your relationship. Remember how you treat your partner when you first marry, Don’t stop it. Honour each other. Once there is familiarity, there is dishonor.
- Esteem the highly for their work sake.
If you sit down to really think of the services people render to you, you will esteem them highly. Husband honour your wife. The labour that goes into managing your home is a lot. And then a woman keeps your home for you but you are saying she is a useless woman. Honour her as your helper, prayer partner, home keeper, etc. Woman look at your husband as he provides and protect you, in his office. You should honour him. 1 Thess 5:13.
- Divine Ordination.
There are people that God has designed for us to honour. You can honour a woman even in her errors. 1 Corinthians 12:22. Whether your spouse is right or wrong, you must honour each other. Even when they are not fulling their duties, you must still honour them. That is why as a woman, marry a man you can honour. God designed the body in a way that the less visible part should be honoured too. It is even more necessary to honour those who are less visible. Husband you can’t talk evil of someone you say you honour. Anywhere where there is dishonour God gives way. The true test of your character is how you treat people you are greater than. The true test of your character is how you treat people you can’t benefit from. Honour shouldn’t be on the basis of what a person wears, what they do or who they are. Honour everyone. 1 Pet 3:7. Even when people are in their low state, don’t take away their dignity.
You have no right to dishonour any man, you only know today, you don’t know tomorrow. That your driver, house help, can put their life in the line for you because you honour them. Stop talking to people like chicken, so that on the day of battle you’ll have an army defending you. The men meant to protect you in the day of battle (your team) if you use your words and dishonour to disregard them, killing their self-esteem, how will they defend you when it is time for battle? Don’t turn the lions around you to chicken. Your words are powerful. There are attitudes that will give to you what 40 days of fasting will not give you and that is honour. Once you say I DO, you have sworn your partner into an office. So, you must honour them. Honour is a divine calling. Treat all men with honour, especially when they are in the valley. Your perception of people begins from the heart. Parents teach your children to respect the driver, house help, etc. Teach them to honour all men. Honour is a ladder, as you treat people, you’re giving them a ladder out of a valley.
